Struggling to Decide between 3060ti and 3070

Jaimie

Hey, any help would be much appreciated. I was originally going to go for the Gigabyte Eagle OC 3060ti for $679 (AUD) but then realised I'd have more to spend by next week when I'm buying the card and opted for the Gigabyte Aorus 3060ti elite for $779. As I was looking on Umart I found a Galax 3070 for $749 and an MSI Ventus 3x 3070 for $799. Can't really decide if its worth getting the MSI 3070 over the Gigabyte 3060ti because there aren't videos online comparing the two specifically. Once again advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Me, I'd get the galax, or atleast the msi.
More firepower for roughly the same amount of spending.

How much more performance would something like the Strix 3070 offer over the ventus 3x 3070 or the 3060ti elite.
https://www.umart.com.au/product/asus-rog-strix-geforce-rtx-3070-8g-v2-oc-lhr-graphics-card-61983 considering this but I don't really know if the extra $90 and constantly going up a little more will offer any performance really.

not that much, the strix card has a pretty big OC, about 10% higher clock speed.  the step up from 3060ti to 3070 will be way bigger, because it is a different product and the 3070 cards are basicly the same.  the strix card is going to be really cool tho, they just smacked a 3090 cooler on a 3070.  (one of my best friends has the white version of the rog strix OC, he turned off the oc capabilitys and is running it at stock.  its very quiet and cool.)

Damn... Nvidia's market strategy and prices are really aggressive in Australia. I guess they really try to win you guys. Here in Europe they are basically giving the market away to AMD. As for the GPUs - 3070 all day long before the 3060Ti. It;s just completely different class of GPU. Even the cheaper 3070 is better than the most expensive 3060Ti.

I have both the 3070 and the 3060Ti. In by all cases, the performance diff is roughly 10%.  Both good cards and do 1440p great and even 4k60 with a few settings lowered. Be aware that MSI ventus has the power locked at 100% in bios, so the overclock potential is limited.
