SSD Windows move SATA cable?

I am a novice, very limited experience. Apologies for the stupid questions.

 

I have windows on an SSD, plugged into the motherboard's SATA3_0 location.

 

I found out in the manual that if I add an m.2 ssd into the empty m.2 slot of the motherboard, the SATA3_0 wont work anymore.

 

I want to transfer the SSD with windows that is plugged into SATA3_0 to another slot, say SATA3_2, so I can then add a m.2 ssd to the motheboard, and they can both work.

 

Will I have any problems with this? Is it as simple as plugging the sata cable of the SSD with windows to another sata port, or would i need to reconfigure stuff in the bios to direct the system to move from the new location or whatever?, or change drive letters etc?

Should work just fine. Your motherboard already knows the SATA SSD with Windows on it so you can just plug it into a different port.

Most systems should just pick it up automatically as they're not assigning boot priority by port but by drive and it should see it move.
