Need help to find a Display.

KeyperOS

Yep, another one of those. Will try to keep it relatively short.

Use-case: The dreaded "a little bit of everything".
- (A lot of) Browsing and reading. Needs to be easy on the eyes. High refresh rate is very welcome!

- Media consumption (Youtube, Movies, Animation). "Good Enough" colors are a big plus.

- Gaming. Not looking to win any CoD records. Only occasionally play FPS games. Response time should again be "Good Enough"

Current setup: Old, REALLY old.
- Samsung SyncMaster T240. Kept it all this time because I didn't want to lose my 16:10 aspect ratio.
- MSI GTX 1070. Will need to be upgraded down the line.

Size: Either 27" flat or 32" Curved.
Normal use while 60cm to 90cm away from the screen but I also watch movies at about 3 meters from the screen. Looking for a happy medium.

Resolution: Due to size, I am aiming at 1440p.

Budget: Was planning to stay in the 200-300€ range. Had a rude awakening.
Now I am aiming at the sub-600€ range. Ideally sub-500€.

What I have already tried:

- Samsung G5 Curved 34" Ultra-wide: Hated it. Like really.

- Samsung G7 Curved 27": Liked it a lot, great colors and blacks but hoped it was a tad bigger.

- Samsung G7 Curved 32": As above, a better size but the curve radius was WAY too aggressive. Watching video felt very weird. A bit pricey but (barely) within my budget.

- Samsung G9 Wide: Amazing but way WAY out of what I can/want to spend.

- Dell S3222DGM: Had a REALLY purple-ish hue. Factory Resetting didn't help. Not impressed.

- ROG STRIX XG32VC Curved: Pretty middle of the road. Colors were "ok" but didn't impress me as much as the G7. Curve radius was fine.

- Xiaomi Mi Gaming Curved 34": Pretty pleasing colors, until I noticed it was crushing them and losing detail. Pleasing, yes, but unimpressive.

- HP Omen 27i Gaming: After the above, it felt a tad more "simple" but nevertheless was all-around nice. The colors were good (IPS), the blacks were dark-enough. Couldn't really test it though, only watched it play a video.

Please suggest what else I could check. Will try to test one IRL.

Thanks!

the g5 is one of the worst monitors spec wise people buy on the market 😂

i recommend the gigabyte x27Q-P or the msi mag274QRF-QD, up to u if the colors are worth the extra cost

if you want a monitor that checks almost all the boxes, check the local pricing of the GP27Q

Hi and thank you for taking the time to answer this!

- I searched but cannot find a Gigabyte x27Q-P monitor. The closest match is the HP X27q which appears to be a more budget version of the HP Omen 27i Gaming. Did you perhaps meant that one?
Alternatively, there is the Gigabyte G27Q. Perhaps this one?

- The MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD WAS available here and has very good user reviews but has since been unavailable. Perhaps it was EOLed? Would someone happen to know its' replacement?

- Lastly, the Cooler Master Tempest GP27Q looks like an amazing monitor but, at least for now it is not available anywhere that I looked. TBH it looks good enough to wait but I'd still like to have the chance to see it live.

the msi monitor isn't EOL'd but availabily can vary

it's not a 120usd difference imho

the gp27Q actually has true hdr at the cheapest price yet, so not a mistake if you just wanna wait.
