get Xeon 1230v3 if you dont OC

much cheaper, but doesnt have integrated graphics

btw haswell refresh xeon spotted in the wild

if you want a bit power boost ( not much, maybe 100mhz on each core ) and potentially cooler cpu ( better TIM ) you might want to wait. i can dig out some info if you want, but i doubt we will find when they will release it

EDIT: Found on german site 11. May is release for H.R., but dont know what processors.

Thanks for the response. I don't know a lot about Xeon processors, all I know is that they are used for workstations. Does the i7's integrated graphics affect performance with a 780?

Xeons are meant for workstations yes, so they have some other stuff but no IGPU.

Xeon 1230v3 has hyperthreading, so its equivalent to i7 and also cheapest one that have hyperthreading.

Integrated graphics is not affecting performance at all. The only scenario that it could be used is in distant future when games *could* use integrated graphics for calculating physics or something.

At least AMD is looking for that on their APU lineup.

But 780 and nvidia physx take care of this so there is no need to get i7. Unless your 780 dies, or if you temporarily not have gpu in system, the integrated gpu will not be used.
