Finnally building my first PC

Hirofine

Hi Everyone,

New here, long time follower of the channels.
I am finally done with studies and started a job few month ago and have saved a bit of money for finally make my own build.

I have already made a pcpartpicker list of what I think might be nice and in my budget, feel free to guide me.
I have nothing to scrap from my previous set up except peripherals since I am on a laptop and it will be reused by someone else.

The look isn't that important for me, mostly because given the disposition of my desk, the glass panel will be against a wall, but I tried a black theme nonetheless in case of a setup change in the future.

Budget (including currency): 1500-1600 €

Country: France, but can buy also from Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Heavily modded Minecraft, Warframe, some AAA games, software dev

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Upgrading from a laptop, where I will get the SSD but I still need another one to replace in the laptop so it can be reused by my gf, so let's consider 1 TB of storage as SSD required

PCPartPicker Part List: https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/2Cr9Q6

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 3.4 GHz 8-Core Processor  (€249.00 @ Amazon France)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler  (€119.90 @ Amazon France)
Motherboard: Gigabyte X570S AORUS ELITE AX ATX AM4 Motherboard  (€239.69 @ Amazon France)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory  (€70.88 @ Amazon France)
Storage: Crucial P3 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive  (€84.36 @ Boulanger)
Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 12G GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB Video Card  (€444.94 @ TopAchat)
Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case  (€105.89 @ Amazon France)
Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS GX 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  (€109.90 @ Amazon France)
Total: €1424.56

I already have some peripherals including one screen, peripheral upgrade is planned for spring where the plan is to buy a second screen and new keyboard and mice.

Would like 1440p 60-120Hz high quality, I can understand it isn't that easy.

Thanks for the help 🙂

Salut 🙂

Can get a much better gaming CPU and a better GPU by avoiding overpriced cooler and board

A beefier PSU is nice as well

A bit over 1500EUR, same price in Germany overall, but you can save a bit by getting some parts here and there (CPU from Germany, GPU from France etc)

Depending on what software dev you are doing, you might want support for CUDA (then you want a Nvidia GPU), or you are interested in more multi threaded performance, rather than raw gaming performance. If the latter is the case, you could go for a 5900X instead of a 5800X3D. If you just do it a bit for school, then it won't be necessary though.

Have fun building your first PC 🙂
