So I can just buy the brecket and instell it into my cooler??

Im kinda of comflicted between AMD and Intel.

Intel is good for gaming while AMD is more budget friendly and its easy to later upgrade the cpu with them. Unlike Intel where you have to change the motherboard as well.

1/ yes it's just a plastic/metal thingie (that goes below the mobo to hold the cooler) that you can get from the cooler suppliers

2/ Nah "Intel is gaming AMD is budget" is something from 2018 with first Zen chips vs 9th gen, not true at all anymore

Both are now pretty close in gaming, and new AMD lineup still has no budget option on 7000 chips, neither intel on 13rd gen, so ...

Look at this to get "fresh" info :

Atm you have 3 options

- Best price/perf is undoubtly 13600K on DDR4

- If you can spare some more money, it's 13700K vs 7900X on AM5, with 7900X platform cost still higher due to crazy overpriced AM5 boards BUT you will be able to keep an AM5 board for 4 years, whereas you'll have to change the Intel board for any upgrade...

- If you only want best of the best, it's 13900K, with 7950X second but which has the advantage of AM5 longevity as well

Back to you Steve  🙂

What cpu is better, and will my watercooler crosair h150i pro RGB will fit them??

Thank you in advance.

Depends on what you do, but overall they will be pretty much perform the same, some games like the intel,  some like ryzen. You cannot go wrong with either. AM5 Boards can be a bit pricey, but some have come down to the 200-250 range.

And your cooler will fit on AM5 if you have an AM4 bracket (so pretty sure you got one), and on Intel 12/13rd gen you need a LGA1700 bracket, you may not have one if your cooler is more than 1y old, so may have to buy one to Corsair

Well I have some change, to spare and I want to buy a 4080 or the new XTX for 2k gaming, I don't want the top of the line CPU (I have a 9900k)

I don't want to overspand, But I do want a strong upgrade with DDR5 ram in mind.

Which res are you using ?

Rly now best gaming rig for 1080p or 1440p could be 5800X3D and a 6950XT, everything will run super nice and it'll cost less than the 4080 alone 😄

The LGa 1700 mounting bracket for the h150i is the same as for 1200, it is just different mounting screws for the correct height. I got mine direct from Corsair, was like $6 or something.

It's $8 now it seems

It works great on my 13700k.

The 4080 is a great gpu with a terrible price. The rumor channel YouTubers are also saying that it’s selling very poorly. Chances are, if you wait a smidge until after the 7900xtx comes out, there is a chance of a price drop.

This is why I'm planning on buying a new cpu motherboard and ram, before it happens.
