Yes, Newegg in general is safe to buy from. As with any online e-tailer, ensure its sold/shipped by newegg and not a 3rd party unless its a reputable 3rd party.

I'm looking at getting myself a 6900 xt and I found one on new egg but I don't know if im over paying. Is 750 alot for that card?

You can find them for around 500$ on ebay. i would not pay 750$ for a 6900XT, anything more then 550$ isnt currently worth it imo.

7000 series cards launch in about a month from now. Launch availability is always a tough things to predict but usually it can be a few weeks to a few months depending on if its a paper launch or legitimate. Its really only a decision you can make, but based on the rumors/leaks, I would probably wait myself until at least reviews are out. If anything, the 6900xt will likely come down in price a little bit as well since AMD usually likes to drop prices on older stock when new stuff launches unlike Intel or Nvidia.

If you can wait, wait.  if you find a 6900xt for a great price, buy it and hold it for the return period to see if prices drop or if the new 7xxx series make more sense.

 

A new 6900xt for near 600 is a great price for them.  yes, they're worth more than $550.  $50 over used price for a new one, is unreasonable.
