Hello guys,

I recently built my system which has:

Mohterboard: ROG maximus Vl hero

CPU: 4770k 3.5GHz

RAM:  Corsair Vengeance 16 Gb

GPU: ASUS Direct CUll 780

Storage: Samsung 840 Pro 250 Gbs

So I should have no problems running games, right? Well I kind of don´t. I have been able to play any game I own. My problem began when I benchmarked my games and the results baffled me. (I´m lazy and ignorant so my configs are what GeForce Experiece said) In Tomb Raider I can´t get over 30 FPS in game or in the benchmark, Battlefield 4 won´t go over 40 FPS. I haven´t tweaked with GPU or CPU.

My question is, are FPS within the expected range? Will OC really improve things? If so, how?

Thank you and I know I have a lot to learn.

Ha! kind of forgot to say everything is running at 1080p!!

Do you have the latest drivers? The FPS seems low, are you using tressfx on TR? Also did you scale battlefield 4's resolution? Overclocking performance varies, I got a 5% delta in performance, then again my cooler is a reference one.

Temps in my CPU don´t go over 50C and in GPU over 80C. Got the latest drivers and  AA is x4. And I don´t know what sacling is

If you had scaling all the way up in BF4, that's why your FPS is so low. It makes the equivalent of like 1440p or higher.

Tomb Raider is just a hard game to run. If I MAXED out the setting with my 4770 and 780, I got like 30 FPS too. Even medium-high floats around 60fps.

IMO nvidia control panel (used to) not be that good. Try fiddling around with the settings and get your optimum. Your GPU should be able to run everything pretty good at 1080p though.

Try turn off tressfx on TR and see how much it makes a difference. The fps you've mentioned does seem lower than usual though. I have a EVGA GTX 770 SC and i hover around 80-90 fps on BF4 on full ultra without scaling. On TR I got like 30fps with tressfx on, but turning that off i easily get 60+ fps on ultra. So yeah a 780 should be a little higher than what im getting.
