Is the MSI MPG A650GF best at $60 price point?

Toxiss

So I recently noticed that the loudest component in my PC was the PSU and not the CPU or Case fans and based on the tier list it was a C rating so I decided to upgrade so I can have a much more silent PC as the humming gets a little annoying. I picked up the MSI MPG A650GF for $59.25 from Microcenter with my $25 off coupon and I can't find much info on sound which is the second most important to me apart from quality. I picked up a Corsair (2018) RM550x for $63 on the Prime Day thing a week or two ago for a buddy and I'm not sure if to wait for a little and pick it up for myself and return the MSI or keep the MSI. My current PSU is the Corsair CX Series 550 Watt 80 Plus Bronze so I only need 550 Watts but the 650 Watts also works

The RMx is about 5db quieter across the board.

FYI if sound is very important, look into cybenetics reviews for power supplies.

https://www.cybenetics.com/d/cybenetics_enO_eu.pdf     Corsair

https://www.cybenetics.com/d/cybenetics_7QW_eu.pdf    MSI

Edit: That being said, the MSI is my go to "cheaper" power supply anymore. I mostly run RMx/HX, but for something where I don't want to spend that money or if it goes on sale I'll gladly pick up the MSI.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting the graphs right (not super familiar with PSU stuff unlike other components) but it also looks like the Corsair is more efficient than the MSI, but at the end the MSI has a platinum rating and the Corsair has a Gold. Looks like the Corsair however has A++ on both certifications for ratings so that'd be the best for the most quiet PSU?

I can tell you one thing, I have the MSI MPG A850GF, the fans are very quite, in fact I can't even hear it when my PC is idling, especially under full load. My GPU is way louder than any fans on my PC.

That said, if you don't run all noctua fans, including GPU, I'd say that the PSU fan noise is the last thing you should be worried about.

Part of my concern is the noise, but also efficiency. But after hearing that the fans are really quiet from you I'm not sure if I should return it. Would you say it's as loud as the person on this post says it is?

No audible noise on mine, like at all. Maybe they just got bad ones and I got lucky, idk.

I could hear the air being sucked in by my case fans, not the fans themselves, but cannot hear my PSU fans.

Do you think I might be able to get a comparable PSU given Black Friday is right around the corner for the same price or even cheaper?

Sorry, IDK because I'm not in the US.

If the PSU ended up being noisy, just RMA it, simple right.
