Im gona risk it! Gona try to OC my 8350 to 4.2 ghz w the stock cooler i dont think anything bad should happen going from stock to 4.2 only a 0.2 increase. Now whats a good program to download so I can OC it? Is OCing a CPU the same as OCing a GPU?(you just drag the slider to the right)

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

While it is possible to overclock the CPU with a in OS program, i would recommend you not to. They tend to be extremely buggy and can cause a variety of issues.

I would recommend you to use the BIOS. It's not just moving a slider. CPU overclocking (especially AMD) is a bit more tricky, and there are a lot more variables to take into account.

That said, you can use AMD Overdrive to overclock the CPU.

Mess around in the bios a little bit, much more better than a program and anyways i dont think a program can OC a CPU, what i think. But its not that hard i managed to get my E7500 to 3.0Ghz

AMD overdrive software can allow you to OC both CPU and gpu.

BIOS is one way but some UEFI settings you do might not get applied when you boot to OS.

sorry i dont want to dip into the BIOS(i tend to f*ck up stuff that cant even be f*cked up lolol) and through software i think its easier.

I don't know exactly how AMD Overdrive works, but here is a guide:

It's not easier doing it through software. If you screw up in Windows it can mean you have to do a new Windows install. If you screw up in the BIOS, you just have to clear the CMOS.

Don't touch the core voltage, you will need to disable cool and quiet mode. Look for the multipler value. If its 40 now up the multipler to 42

what he means is: never touch the core voltage unless you understand the risk

Sorry if my msg wasn't clear. Adjusting the core voltage is a straight death sentence to the CPU.

Usually I won't place any unwanted risk on my CPU with that stock cooler.
