the games on it

Can you play them if they aren't on your account?

Don't get the PS2, because PS3 backwards compatibility.

Personally, my nostalgia says GameCube.

So I am currently at my local used games store and I have enough money for either a GameCube, a wii with almost every accessory, a ps2, a ps3, or an Xbox 360. I need help choosing because I’m indecisive as all hell. Just something to note though, I do not have an Xbox account, and I do not want to pay for Xbox live, however the games on it might be good enough to warrant a purchase of Xbox live. thanks for helping me choose

Only the first PS3 20gb and 60gb models had backwards compatibility. So if you want to play PS2 games as well, check before buying. PS1 games can be played on all Ps3's.

What should you get depends on what sort of games you like, really. Most Wii's can play Gamecube games, so there's that.

PS3 and x360 are fairly modern consoles with a ton of cheap games.

My first choise would be PS3 or X360. The xbox isn't known for its reliability (early ones), but if it has survived this long, you might be ok.

It's too late now but have a look at a Sega Dreamcast. It is such an overlooked system with a ton of gems on it.

Dreamcast was sooo ahead of its time.  My buddy has more than one.  But 1 in particular he modded to put a sd card and reader inside that you can load whole game libraries on instead of keeping up with discs.
