Will Ryzen 7 5800X work with 3600MHZ memory?

It says on the AMD website that the 5800X supports up to 3200mhz. Does this mean my G.Skill 3600mhx will incompatible, or just run at 3200mhx instead of 3600mhx?

Enable XMP or what ever it's called in the bios.

3200mhz is the Maximum they guarantee to support. For most CPUs, anything over the minimum spec is an overclock, thus is not protected by warranty claims.

If you turn on XMP and it fails to boot or crashes, then you got bad memory, unlucky with silicon on the CPUs Memory controller, or a bad board layout for memory.

you should be fine, mine is running at 4000mhz with no issues, just enable XMP in the bios to get the correct speed and timings

Edit i also have the 5800x cpu as well

its pretty much oc-ing your memory to the fullest potential. out of the box it would only run at 3200MHz, but xmp will let it run at 3600MHz

Add voltz and try it

Ryzen 5800X3D(Because who doesn't like a phat stack of cache?) GPU - 7700Xt

                                                           X470 Strix f gaming, 32GB Corsair vengeance, WD Blue 500GB NVME-WD Blue2TB HDD, 700watts EVGA Br

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~
