What are your SSD boot times?

Basically just as the title state, I'm wondering what your SSD boot times are? From when you hit the power button until you are at the login window or desktop. My Retina Macbook Pro boots in about 11 seconds from power button to desktop.

From power button to Windows fully booting up about 4-5 seconds. BIOS time is about 3 seconds.

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

thanks to RAIDROM i have to wait for it to check the raid config once in awhile. but its rapid in raid0 once on desktop :)

Well that's if I set my BIOS to quick boot so the BIOS screen flashes for less than a second.

i built a ITX pc for a friend that booted in around 6 or 7 seconds. 2 RAM blocks, an APU and a Asrock board and a SanDisk SSD. nothing to initialize that much during the booting process. If you got a Graphics card that's like 2 seconds. Initializing BIOS/UEFI is another 3 seconds or so. Asrock Boards have something that's called Instant Boot which essentially saves data from previous boots and skip HDD checking and stuff making it able to go directly into booting windows. even then it takes roughly 2-3 seconds to boot win8.1

 

My Mac Pro boots in around 15 seconds but i use Directory Services with it.

The NAND on the PCI-E drives isn't as good. My mum has the same model and mine runs circles around her's.

Interesting, what are your read and write speeds? I'm getting about 570 MB/s write and 740 MB/s read.

I don't get as high sequential reads. Higher random though for sure. I get about 490MB/s Write and 530MB/s Read.

Nice! I was thinking of getting a MacBook Pro and just making some upgrades, but ended up falling in love with the retina display and lightweight of the retina.
