Someone is offering gainward gtx 1070 for cheap and theyre saying that its working properly but it wont accept drivers, or that it wont install them, is this problem hardware or software releated? Should i go for it?

No other details were offered in the ad, contacted the seller and basically told me the same thing, that it wont run the games without drivers.

Nope, evade such thing. Either it's indeed a damaged GPU (which isn't worth it to get anyway if you wanna use it long-term in reliability wise... You really don't want it randomly crash when you're using it), or it's a fake GPU, as driver that won't install is one of the main symptom of a fake GPU.

You can simply ask the seller to use GPU-Z and it usually shows if it's a fake GPU or not.

Humor me, as you should do.

Dammit. Hoped that i could get lucky this time with the 1070 this year. Had the Strix 1070ti and Turbo 1070 from Asus and both died within 3 months from each other from memory failure. At least the prices are crashing down again.

its outputting raw video signal and device manager is recognizing it as gtx 1070, nonetheless gpu seems legit at least from the cooler perspective, havent seen any gainward fakes around.

Patience is the key, bro. You don't rush to buy such things if it ended you gonna waste that money.... Again. Especially with secondhand items.

If you wanna get it cheap, get it from a friend instead that you know how he'd use the thing. I got my 1650 and paid only 50% of the secondhand market price by so.

I did saw a fake 1050 Ti and it definitely will plague on 1060 onwards. Just tell the seller to use GPU-Z or be gone.

If it's showing like so, forget about it.

If its getting error 43 its already sketchy af. Usually means there is something wrong with the card or its not even a 1070

It's either defective or fake. Don't buy it.

I dont know much about that thats why i asked here. It was weird to me that it says that driver instalation is complete and after that it doesnt work and its not showing essential info in the gpu z. weird.

If error 43, most likely just bricked. And if you can see it in device manger you can flash it using nvflash64. You can get the bios here: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/185246/gainward-gtx1070-8192-160630

But its still a dice roll
