Multiple different GPUs in one Computer

Go to solution Solved by X-System,

@Blotjarl You can to buy a used GTX 1060 (has 2 or 3 DP ports, find models with 3 DP ports, Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1 Gaming for example) and the drivers for GTX 10-series is updated with RTX 30-series.

is it possible to add two different Graphics Cards to one Computer?

I have a RTX 3060 in my build and have a NVS 310 lying around.

Can I use them both at the same time?

I already tried to install both at the same time, but the drivers wouldn't load and only one display worked.

Do I have to install new drivers in addition to the already installed, or is it impossible to get it working?

The reason it wouldn't load is because NVS 310 is a quadro and the RTX is a geforce card. Different drivers all together.

And to answer your question. Yes it can be done. But you can't combine them or anything, they would just be independent graphics cards.

But I could connect Displays to both of them and drag windows from one to another without any problems?

I just would have to install drivers for both GPUs, right?

You can do that with your 3060 far better than adding an entire gpu which is only worse in performance.

I just need two more Display Ports and haven't found any splitters that would be useful to me.

Does your 3060 only have a single port on the back
