Oversaturated color problem AMD 6900XT

Hello, 3 weeks ago, after updating the driver, when I right-clicked on the desktop, AMD Radeon software did not appear, after uninstalling with DDU and reinstalling, the colors started to become oversaturated. I've been using oversaturated colors for about 3 weeks now and it's frustrating. 3 I've tried everything I can think of, including the format, throughout the week but couldn't find a solution. Also, I haven't seen any other users having oversaturation issues. Anyone else having this problem?

It could also be the monitor, I'm not sure. No 2nd monitor to test.

maybe the cable? would be an easy fix. just guessing here.

Never had these issues with my 6900 nor the 6950 but the drivers really are not that great IMHO.

I don't think it's the cable as the problem occurred after the driver update. I only have a 1.4 DP cable. Even though I tried 4-5 different drivers, it didn't get fixed. I'm starting to think the problem is hardware.

Check if HDR is turned on in the Windows display settings. Might be just that.

Try going in to the driver then Settings > Display > Custom Color > Turn "Custom Color" on and "Color Temperature Control" off. Also make sure the other options are at the default position and check if HDR isn't on.

HDR off, I always use it off.

All the settings in the display section in the AMD Radeon software are at the factory settings that I always use.

After this problem started, I switch the color temperature control to off mode to make it less irritating to my eyes.

Reset your monitor settings.

Check if your "vivid gaming" is perhaps on in Radeon Software.

I reset the monitor settings to factory settings and it didn't work.

Solutions I've tried so far:

- I reset the monitor to factory settings.
- I uninstalled and reinstalled the AMD graphics driver with DDU.
- I uninstalled the AMD video card driver with DDU and tested it without installing any drivers.
- I formatted the PC.
- I reset the BIOS.
- I removed the video card from the case and reinstalled it.
- I unplugged the DP cable and tried it on different inputs.

Can you tell me which part is the "vivid gaming" in the Radeon software?

I didn't change the monitor profile, but the colors are slightly better after downloading the monitor driver. But still corrupt and oversaturated.

XRite Colomunki Smile, iDisplay, Datacolor Spyder or any other calibration tool + DisplayCal.

When you connect a different device to that screen, do the colors look off on it as well?

When you connect the PC to a different screen (another monitor, a TV or something), are the colors off there too?

Since I don't have a 2nd monitor or a 2nd video card, I haven't had a chance to try it. Unfortunately, there is no DP port on the TV.

Also, although I did not use any calibration program before, it was working fine. This problem arose out of nowhere. I don't think any calibration program will solve this problem.

You have to find out if it's the display or the system. Use friends, relatives...

The TV should have HDMI and your GPU has a HDMI out. If it doesn't, DP to HDMI adapters or cables are cheap.

You have to find out if it's the display or the system. Use friends, relatives...

I guess there is no solution left in the software that I can implement. I think the problem is hardware and as you said, first of all I need to understand whether the problem is with the GPU or the monitor.

It feels weird not seeing anyone but me with this saturated color problem. In a few days I will go to my friend and test the graphics card.

You can use your mobile phone to take a few pictures and show us how it looks. Maybe that would give a few ideas.

I tried to shoot with a phone before, but unfortunately it is not very clear.

I see pixels there...

Get away from the monitor, make a photo with the whole screen visible.

Also, that looks like 256colors, not 32-bit.

When I take the whole screen, the problem is not obvious. Even if I take many photos, you cannot detect the problem without seeing the screen with your own eyes.

For example, it is not clear how saturated the red is in this photo.

I do not understand how that

  • 7 months later...

""""SOLUTION"""" :

I had the same issue for the longest time , its not AMD Driver .
I had MSI center installed on startup it changed color after this app launched .

the color will be saturated an extra 10 and red will become more intense  .

Make sure u dont a so called self proclaimed ""GAMING APP"" on ""STARTUP"".

The app will register itself as ""GAMING"" and driver will work as its designed for Gaming 😄
