What would be best for streaming?

Go to solution Solved by HanZie82,

Please clarify. watching a streaming; streaming.

Or broadcasting a stream; also streaming. 😉

I mean its obvious but it had to be said. Sorry. 🙂

ps seeing you only use 12% of your CPU, might be able to use software encoding and still have more then enough in reserve.

I would suggest making a test channel (if needed) and do some testing. Heck link the channel and we might even help if possible.

Hello!
I've been streaming a lot before I upgraded my whole setup and now adays I feel like it's not going super good when i'm doing it.
I play on 4k so a 3090 in my opinion if I want to stream as well but when I use hardware encoding during stream I totally max out the GPU. Now I don't usually play a lot of graphics based games but rather fps or games like rocket league.
On task manager I get around 50% usage with everything that I usually have on whilst my cpu only have 12% usage.
Question is if I should switch to Software encoder rather than hardware encoder?

Currently I'm required to turn down settings or do other settings based solutions to get a smooth stream but should I rather off load the data to my cpu since it's not doing a lot?

I have the game capped to 120 fps 4k borderless.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!
