Hello!

Lately I've been encountering a lot of random BSODs, when on desktop, when gaming, when browsing, etc.

There's a few various errors, one of them is "0xc000021a" and the other one I remember is "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR".

From my research, those would suggest a failing drive.

Things I tried:

- running "sfc /scannow" - didn't find issues

- running "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image Restorehealth" - didn't find issues

- running "chkdsk - every time I'd run this it would have something to fix

- checked SSD health with CrystalDiskInfo - says "95% Good"

Other info:

- usually programs freeze before the BSOD occurs, sometimes only the focused window, it's weird

- there's no any minidump files

- SSD is a Crucial P1 1TB (around 2 yrs old)

- OS is Windows 11 (installed few months ago)

Ironically, the PC crashed once again while I was writing this.

Can you by any chance swap out the OS drive with another SSD and see if you get the same shutdowns?

Don't have any spare SSDs laying around but I could clone the drive to a hard disk.

I wonder how long I'll need to wait for it to crash again though, like yesterday it ran around 8 hours without problems. Today it already crashed 3 times in the span of 3 hours. Very unpredictable.

Cloning SSD to HDD could just introduce other issues, as HDDs and SSDs aren't neither aligned to the same data kilobyte factor, not cloning directly from different drives, especially SSD / HDD is a good idea over all.

Recommend fresh install to HDD and a some trying to make it crash by loading up the PC.

Think it's worth it to do a fresh install to the SSD instead, since all the health reports seem fine?

If chkdsk finds issues, you might be having problems with the drive or your RAM.

Check using chkdsk c: /f /x /r

And check your RAM using Memtest86+

Agreed. Posts so far don't give any evidence of drive going wobbly, so to me that points towards other instabilities. Agree with checking ram (or alternatively, turn off XMP if it is on).

well, random bluescreens can introduce drive data problems that CHKDSK will fix, and not mean it's a problem with the drive itself.

Def try memtest86 next.  Do you have XMP turned on?  (We've seen corsair sticks on work with default XMP more than a few times.)

I ran the memtest86, with XMP disabled. It took around 2 and a half hours. All tests passed. 0 errors.

I tried using the system with XMP disabled as well. I ran sfc /scannow after disabling it and there were some files to fix, but in the end I continued getting BSODs again.

Edit: no errors on memtest with overclocked RAM either.

either SSD, or a bad drive controller on the mobo.  one of the two.

Extremely doubt on the latter on anything modern, it's probably the drive itself as Windows even automatically downloads drive controller drivers.
