SSD need caddy?

 Share

My desktop has only two slots for HDDS, two of them are going to be 3.5 HDD but my SSD is going to just "float" in the case. Wondering since there's no moving parts would that be OK to just tuck at the bottom, maybe add some sticky tape to stop it from moving?,

bit of double sided tape to keep it in place especially if you have cause to move your rig about,

i use 3m adhesive tape as it has an almost shock absorbing quality to it and will soak up any vibrations from other kit

just search for "3m VHB tape", we use it for everything round the office computer builds sticking tags onto vehicles its multi purpose, and super strong.

Oh yeah, I do it all the time in our computers at work. It will be absolutely fine.

Thanks, it looks ugly hanging in there but it works

I know, but it does work. Where I work we have lots of computers for office work and majority of them have old cases back when there weren't SSDs existing and they don't have place for SSDs, so I simply connect SSDs there and then let them hang like that 😄
