Mount it in such way that it pushes the air out the back of the case... it's also the most common way of doing it :P

You mount the backplate and then mount the cooler on that. I would advice you to orient the fac so that it push air out the back.

Edit: I'm actually not sure if there is the need for a backplate on an AMD board, but the manuel that came with the cooler should tell you.

Holy cable management batman!!!

Zipties are your friend, embrace them with open arms, and they shall save you from damnation.

I always prefer push/pull but if you only have 1 fan then I'd do push just cause. There's no noticeable performance difference between push/pull except when you do both.

As for how to mount the actual block, it should have come with instructions and if that fails watch a YouTube vid of someone else installing it.

The cable management is not that bad and I did not ask you to comment on that!

The 212 EVO is a little bitch to mount. You can even twist it once it's installed. :D

But it cools the FX 6300 of a friend of mine relativeley well. But we needed 3 attempts to mount it proberly. Have fun. xD

i bet its better than the scythe mugen 3, that was a bitch

yeah, i don't really like the mounting solution on the 212 that much..  the actual cross section that holds it down can vobble and be raised up and down, if you don't tighten it equally on each side it can end up tilting on either side and be uneven, not to mention the fact that the heatsink is mostly mounted by pressure, you can still twist and turn it once it's mounted and tightened.

oh wait, scratch that part about the vobbling and and tilting, that's mostly my custom solution :P

You definitely shouldnt be able to twist it once its installed, there is a little pin that sits in a notch at one edge of the centre of the mounting arms.

How much thermal paste?

Are you using Cooler Masters thermal paste they include?

It's pretty decent quality, but it's really runny, for want of a better word. First time I tried to apply it it surprised me and way too much came out.

You only need a little, the size of an uncooked grain of rice, or a similarly sized dot.

Oh.. :D

That's good to know. But if i twist it around, shouldn't the pin snap into it's hole by itself? I think the temps, that that friend of mine is getting, are okay anyways.

I wouldn't buy the 212 EVO ever again. It's overrated and has a bad mounting mechanism. :D

who cares...
