I was upgrading my system sometime in the next month, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

System:

MSI GD-80

MSI GT 660 TI PE

Cooler Master Hyper evo 212

Cooler Master HAF 920

Vengeance 16gb DDR3 1600mhz

Intel i-5 3570

LG Flatron 1920x1080 (scratched)

Home stereo system

Sea Gate 1tb barracuda 7200 RPM

I was thinking about upgrading to a new monitor, and prefer a fast frequency, and less resolution; no less than 1080.

Perhaps a G-Sync monitor?

Do alot of games play in 4K?

I want a system capable for 4k gaming, and ready for playing games as maxed out as possible in that resolution.

I have a Nvidia Shield, so i'm stuck with Nvidia video cards.

I am also interested in a sound card.

I was also wondering if i would need to upgrade my CPU, and my motherboard.

Budget is around $500-1000+

What @SAV1OUR said

You're going to need to spend more. Maybe even double your budget,

why not upgrade you GPU to a GTX 770/780 or something? That's a good place to start.

770:

780:

Monitor(s):

Hope I helped!

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Get a ssd.

As for 4K, good luck doing that for less than $1000.

a 780, a SSD and a new 1080p monitor will be all you need. 4K? silly you, put a few thousand more dollas in and you can have 4K but not maxed out

I already have a system, and i'm wondering what i can do to my current build with a 1000 dollars.

I would think there would be someway to get 4k, or 3k gaming to work on my pc?

I can also go over a grand.

As maxed as possible; i know that would have to be a beast of a PC, but i'm more looking at a start to 4k gaming. Processor wise, ram wise, or whatever else.

I'm not expecting to build a 4k capable system with this 1000 dollars alone, and a 4k video card that is affordable is something i'm going to have to wait for a few years, but it would be nice to start building towards it now.
