Hey guys, my Mom has a laptop with Windows 8 on it. Anyways we are trying to watch movies on Hulu but it refuses to stay in fullscreen mode. After looking for at least a good half hour I noticed Google Chrome keeps getting unselected (it grays out) and then  reselected like I'm clicking on another window. I have no idea how to fix this, I have never used Windows 8 before. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Found a "solution" I relaunched Google Chrome in Windows 8 mode and that seemed to work. I really don't see why people like Windows 8 so much, it's really frustrating to work with.

You should just upgrade to Windows 8.1, it's free and the issue you're having may be something that's been fixed between the version that came on your PC and a fully patched 8.1.

Just go to Windows Update, make sure you've got all your updates installed, then go to the Store app and Windows 8.1 upgrade will be the first thing you see.

This is not a Windows 8 issue. You have a program on the system, that steal focus. Much like your games minimizes when you alt+tab (well most games), the same thing happens with your full screen videos. When something steal focus, it will exit full screen content.

So,

1- Check that you don't have a Chrome add-on which might do this.

2- Look at the background processes and see which one has no place to be there. This includes updaters like Java update, Flash update, or OEM software update, A/V trial is over, etc.

3- Try closing all background processes, does it help?

The issue was Windows was constantly sending an error report every few seconds, I disabled error reporting and it resolved the issue.
