Shipping to Germany question

Valtis

Hi there,

are there any Germans here with experience in ordering on the LTT store? I have some questions for you:

1. Did you have to go to customs to get the delivery, or was it processed by the delivery company for a fee?

2. did you have to do any paperwork in advance or just go there and get the package.

3. who handles the package in Germany? DHL, Deutsche Post or someone else?

thanks for the reply’s. I ordered the backpack and I don’t want anything to go wrong with the delivery.

greetings from Germany.

It's been a while, but I first got a letter from customs asking me to pay and then DHL shipped my stuff to my door.

Mind you that as far as I understand if you do get a letter from customs they screwed up because the tax should already have been paid, so in that case rather than paying (which is what I did) you should probably contact customer support.

Meanwhile in 2024: Ivy Bridge-E has finally retired from gaming (but is still not dead).

Desktop: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X; 64GB DDR5-6000; Radeon RX 6800XT Reference / Server: Intel Xeon 1680V2; 64GB DDR3-1600 ECC / Laptop:  Dell Precision 5540; Intel Core i7-9850H; NVIDIA Quadro T1000 4GB; 32GB DDR4

  • 2 weeks later...

So the first Part of my order arrived today directly delivered from DHL no paperwork in advance just the mailman ringing with the package.

The Order was 215.94 US$ ... I had to pay 67,49 € Customs, with an additional 10 € DHL fee on delivery.

I hope this helps.

The Order was placed on August 3rd ... so it arrived around 3 weeks later here in Hamburg. Nice Timeframe I have to say, thought for at least 6 weeks.

Main System:

Hey @Anghammarad,

Ì was wondering how you had to pay the customs and delivery? Was it in cash to the dhl-worker or is there an option to pay it via bank transfer or paypal?

Thank you in advance! :-)

So as a fellow EU citizen, did any of you contact LTT support for the necessary information to "dodge" the double custom pay and if yes can you share the infos ?

I got some stuff from the LTT store a couple months ago. Shipped to Germany. Pay taxes and everything during checkout then the DHL guy said I had to pay about 40 Euro or so in customs/import taxes. Paid, got my stuff then emailed the LTT support address with a scan of the ticket and a couple weeks later got a refund for the amount paid during checkout.

Hey everyone, it's been a while but as promised I wanted to share my experience with LTT Merch shipping to EU/Germany.

I ordered the screw driver (of course!) and some other stuff (shirts and hats, mostly). The order was about 210$. I already ordered in September but the screw driver took some time.

The package arrived yesterday (01/25/23) and was shipped early January. It took about 2-3 weeks to arrive after the shipping e-mail.

I was very confused because the delivery came with the regular DHL-mailman and I didn't had to pay anything, no customs and no taxes. I honestly don't know if they just forgot to cash me up or if I just got very very lucky. I even checked my mails and everything for a bill from the customs office but I couldn't found anything, yet.

So a German LTT-fanboy got very lucky and is very happy about his new merch! No problems or complications here!

I will write again if something happens in hindsight, but if that's it I can only recommend ordering, even as a EU citizen!
