Could my power supply handle this?

I wanted to replace my graphics card with something like a 770 or a 780 but I'm not sure if my power supply could handle it.  Some people recommend you to have a certain amperage on your twelve volt rail and I have no idea if mine has the right amount.  Any help would be appreciated.  So ya could my system handle adding one of these cards?

Current rig:

  • CPU
    AMD FX-8350
  • Motherboard
    ASRock 970 EXTREME3
  • RAM
    PNY Optima 8GB DDR3 1333
  • GPU
    SAPPHIRE Vapor-X HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB
  • Case
    Antec Three Hundred
  • Storage
Seagate Barracuda 1TB and Samsung Evo 840 120gb
  • PSU
Corsair Enthusiast Series 650-Watt 80 Plus Bronze
  •
  • Cooling
Stock case fans and ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2

yes it will be fine.

The psu is actually overkill. A decent 550w is already more than enough.

Yes. I don't see any problems or conflicts. Should work just fine.

@Rhyn

Yeah the PSU will be sufficient enough for either 770 or 780. With that PSU, you should be able to SLI 2x 780s. any single GPU will be fine.

Higher amperage on the 12v rail isn't really a concern (when you got a decent PSU) until you're dealing with enthusiast grade GPUs and heavy overclocking. E.G. R9 295 x2 etc. That card does require a specific type of PSU with an adequate 12v rail set up.

Corsair 400R, i7 3770K @ 4.5GHz 16GB, Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz, Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Motherboard, 240GB Samsung 840 Evo Sata III SSD, 2 x Asus GTX 780 Direct CU2 SLI, Corsair H100i and Corsair AX860i Platinum Power supply.
