Is it your internet connection? As you're living in Australia you probably don't have the best connection to US based servers.

no problems whatsoever on x360 if that counts, and on speedtest.net my results are as follows on some random server;

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3463502609

upload and ping arent all that great

Verify integrity of game cache

 more info on how? sorry..

Ah, to verify the integrity you right click the game in steam, go to properties, then the tab that says local files and there should be an option to Verify integrity of game cache.

Bad hard drive? Have you tried to run a packet loss test because speed and ping don't tell the whole story.

To test this go in cmd and type ping the servers ip address -t to test for packet loss and when you want to stop ctrl c.

I also have this problem in CS:GO, all of a sudden frame rate drops that persist regardless of how much I lower settings (on a GTX670 PE). I need to quit and restart the application.

it happens all the time, it has never ran properly on this computer, but my (heaps legal) copy of css works fine (offline and LAN) which made me think it was direct x. i have re installed that and no luck.

No cmd in windows with the server ip address from CSS. Also it looks like you have no packet loss so I don't know what it could be.

Apart from hawken, (which wont boot anymore) css is the only game that i play online. I played assassin's creed and it was playing as if someone hit the fast forward button, which makes me think its a dirext x problem but ive reinsalled that a few times. Might need to try uninstalling it completely and doing it that way? I tries cs:go and it seems to run ok. But i only played for five or so minutes. And theres nothing downloading that im aware of.

Aisuite 3 is alright, I removed it though. But aisuite 2 and all the other mobo utility suites are absolutely horrible!  You would think something with BIOS level access would be stable...
