I'm also very interested in this headset. I plan on getting one after upgrading to Z87 and Haswell.

you can save about $75 by getting hd518's and a mod mic and end up with a better headset.

Will work for electronic components and parts

With your suggestion it will actually be costing more for a mod mic and hd 518, are they better bang for the buck then the hd 350s?

The HD 518s are an open ear design. The PC 350s are a closed ear design. It's kind of a huge difference.

sorry, I was going off the ~$100 amazon US price for the hd518 .

and they are the same headphone as the pc350 SE, just without the mic, but the modmic fixes that.

Will work for electronic components and parts

The 350s/360s are supposedley some of the better gaming headsets from what I've heard. A lot of people would however say try to get a really $$$ pair of headphones with an additional clip on mic for a better deal.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?
