Im going to switch my cpu, from a ryzen 7 2700x, to a ryzen 9 5900x, but im running winodws 11 and from what i've read and heard, i would loose something around 20% of my cpu's full ability, and i was wondering if this was fixed, or if this is a constant problem due to the new security requirements of windows 11.

And as far as i know the only way to fix that would be to revert back to windows 10, and then back again to windows 11 if i wanted it, unless there's another way that i don't know about.

Thanks in advance, and i hope you have a great day ❤️

I have a 3900x I did see a performance hit and a lot of bugs early on in Windows 11, since a few patches ago, I've been as good or slightly better than Windows 10 as far as performance in games, and the bugs seem to be mostly ironed out as far as my personal experiences go. Always can revert back if things aren't going well, just back-up your important stuff.

I'm better at fixing people than PC's... For now.

Apparently windows 10 boots faster and also performs better in games and in passmark:

These differences may have been eliminated in the last few weeks, but as you can see this review is rather recent.
Somehow it's weird that windows 11 starts up slower because as far as I know it uses some type of hibernation, which should make it boot much faster. The disadvantage of the default hibernation method of windows 11 is that you are more likely to encounter driver problems.

One of the biggest problems with windows 11 is the RAM usage. With Alpine Linux + LXQt/LXDE you will soon have a user-friendly gaming desktop that will use about 150MB RAM and you can use Openbox, PeKWM, AwesomeWM, i3 etc to have even lower RAM usage. But windows 11 frequently uses around 4500MB of RAM in most people.
