Hi everyone,

I want to ask if it is possible to replace the screen on my MacBook air for ~100$. The LCD no longer works, no applecare.

I have the experience to tinker with apple products, but I'm wondering if there is any DRM associated with a new LCD panel (and the glass). I want to ask if I'll encounter any problems replacing the screen.

I want to buy a for parts MacBook Air for anything under ~100 and just replace it with that.

Where are you possibly going to find a screen for that MacBook (let alone an entire parts MacBook) for less than $100?

Couple things:

1) That's not an M1 MacBook Air.

2) That's an auction listing that doesn't end for another 6 days. There is no way to know how high the price will end up going, but it'll almost certainly be higher than $100, especially once you take shipping into account.

What is it then? I've already contacted the seller

It's an Early 2020 Intel MacBook Air. As far as I'm aware the screens are not compatible between the two models. Even then you still don't know how much that auction is going to end up at.
