iMac 21.5 C2D Install Issues

TehhhMiik

Hi all, got a weird one.

I have an old iMac Core2Duo here. It's the aluminium unibody one, Late 2009. I'm wanting to install a flavour of Linux on it, but every time I try to boot into Ubuntu or Mint install, the screen goes funny when it gets to the desktop. It's split 4 ways and none of the 4 screens is clear so you can't actually read what you're clicking on. Weirdly, it's only in the desktop, not at the OS select screen which i have hopefully highlighted in the attached images.

Tried different USB sticks, different source files, different ports, etc. Really stuck on this one. Any help to get Linux installed would be a great help.
