My AOC CU34G2X has developed a cluster of dead pixels over the last week, luckily it's just inside it's 2 year warranty, so Amazon UK are accepting a return and giving me a refund. I was hoping for a replacement but they are out of stock.

So I need to find a replacement, I will have around £550 to spend and I'm not sure what to go for. I love the 34" ultrawide monitor but would like to have some HDR support. I mainly play RPGs, horror games and WoW, with the occasional shooter thrown in.

The best option I've seen so far in my price bracket is the Dell S3422DWG, it seems to be very close in performance to my outgoing CU34G2X but with much better brightness and HDR400 support (or HDRn't as Linus says). Anything better though seems to double the price point.

My other thought was to grab a 48" OLED like the OLED48A16LA. Yes it's only the entry level A1 so lacks VRR and is only 60hz and the brightness isn't fantastic but it should still offer a good HDR gaming experience? It's currently £585 on Amazon.co.uk.

I'm open to other ideas but 34" ultrawide is what I'd like or a OLED panel.
