A 1500$ PC Build (Need suggestions!)

Prömetheus

Hello guys!

I'm planning to build a 1500$ build. I'm currently at the US! I use his rig for mostly gaming, browsing and coding. But mostly for gaming.

I currently have 1 monitor so monitor is not needed. I do need peripherals! Cuz mine sucks LOL! I'm upgrading because my old pc is an old pentium processor from 2001 that my father build when i was like 8 years old!... and no need of OS :)

Help is appreciated! :D THANK YOU!

@Prometheus, I decided to just go with an AMD GPU for your build since I feel you'll get the best bang for your buck.

Here is the build (feel free to adjust it if need be):

I've come in under budget at $1,400 because I know you wanted new peripherals. I'm not the best to ask about these so you may have to ask some more knowledgable members on here. Also, you may wish to add more case fans for extra cooling but this I also left out as I'm not sure what you would want. I hope the build is to your liking as I tried my best to keep the the red/black colour scheme that you requested. :D

That's a nice build for that price

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

Haha, thanks mate! I tried my best to give him good value and the best price to performance ratio. I had thought about giving him an i5 4670K CPU and swapping the R9 280X for a R9 290X since he will be mostly gaming but decided on the 4770K and AMD R9 280X since he said he won't just be gaming. So I think that's quite a good build all 'round. :D

hi have a look at this from new egg

there's is some parts that you could save on

  • power supply : you dont need a 850w but it gives u head room to add more on in time( eg. 2nd  gpu )
  •  ssd  you can get smaller or get rid of it for a HDD
  • case : there ar cheaper cases than the fractal but if you are planning on keeping it for while i t is good buy
  • cpu :this can be swapped for the 5670k if you dont need the hyper treading
  • the motherboard  : you can buy cheaper one's but there not as nice
  • cpu cooler : you can change it out for a cheeper one or use the stock one

Emmm, for lowering the budget the new Kaveri APU from AMD have a cheaper mobo and processor, should i consider buying i5 or the A10 7850K?

I think things like Peripherals and case you should choose yourself, as they are the more opinion oriented things. I'd say subtract $250 from the budget to set aside for the case and peripherals.

Oh, okay. Well Intel CPUs seem to outperform most AMD CPUs. So probably the i5 4670K. You did say $1,500 though. ;)

Just for your own sake, here's a benchmark comparing both CPUs.
