I had some thoughts of suicide about 3 years ago, they weren't serious but I talked to a friend who helped me meet new people and get new friends. I haven't had them in awhile. I would suggest talking to a friend before anything else cause in my honest opinion parents will just make it worse.

To be honest, the only thing that is keeping me through is music and games. As you said, I have no idea what's causing them. I haven't had any recent traumatic issues ect. Also, I am wary of where I post, but Internet exploitation doesn't seem to wrk on me, I can shrug it off easily, even when I'm in a dark dark place. I guess I will talk to someone about it, if you say it is that much of an issue if I take it as the norm. It has been happening for like a year, and I haven't done it yet...

Don't worry it is relatively normal for people who have had bad experiences to have this cross their mind, it's not healthy though.

Speaking to someone tangible about it now would be a good idea, you say that games and music are helping to take your mind off it, but what happens if you were to lose your PC or your home etc?

On top of this try some other things like exercising more frequently and laughing/smiling when you normally wouldn't (sounds ridiculous, but works).

The most important thing is that you tell someone close to you though, as you can see by this thread most people are happy to try and help. :)

Then it's definitely a serious problem. You might not think so because you're just used to feeling that way but if that's the case then it is a serious problem. It wasn't until I got treatment that I understood that things weren't right. It might feel normal to you to have those feelings but it's not the way the average person feels. People who feel the way you're describing are people who need proper attention from professionals specifically trained to help them deal with the issues they're facing.

As you said, I have no idea what's causing them. I haven't had any recent traumatic issues ect.

The subconscious is a funny thing, it works on pure logic and accepts instructions blindly. It can tie itself up in knots as easily as a bunch of cables left laying around. That's why it can be important to get that stuff untangled, because you can get to a point where you can no longer tell what's routing where or where something might be feeding from. The most important thing is that the problem once identified is dealt with. You might not be able to figure out how to untangle it all but that doesn't mean you have to be stuck with the problem. You can (and definitely should) find someone to help you to figure out where and what the problem is and how to solve it (and you can solve it, as long as you take action to do so, and you should take action to do so).

Also, be careful about who you trust to help you with this stuff; there are people out there (and lots of them) who wouldn't think twice about exploiting you and who know exactly how to manipulate people because it's just second nature to them (they might not even have to think about it.). If you get overconfident or complacent about being able to handle that, it can make you vulnerable. I'm not saying everyone's like that, they're not; people for the most part are generally good but that doesn't mean there aren't bad people out there; there are bad people out there and lots of them. Basically I'm just saying be careful who you go to for help, but you must get help.

To be blunt as someone who had attempted suicide before - don't do it, that shit hurts; when you're 15/16 and having thoughts of suicide/"no one gets me" it tends to be that you're simply angsty (I know, I sound like a twat) everyone goes through a similar phase at least once in their life.

Regarding help, since you're 15/16, I'm going to assume you still go to school, if you do, try and see your school counsellor - they are a massive help and talk to at least one friend you can trust (I kinda broke down in front of him so I had to explain it lol).

Parents seem to be a hit or miss, my parents made it worse for me but I know that some friends have been helped by their parents.

You're most likely suffering from some sort of depression, talking to a counsellor to try and find the root of the problem may be worth a shot (I saw my counsellor every couple of days) but as GuruMeditationError said, be careful regarding who you trust, while I'm sure that 99% of the people on this forum are awesome, I'd be a tad sceptical on other sites.

Just my two cents, but hey, it's up to you how you want to live your life. Find a direction you want to take your life into, I realised that game design and development is really fun so I decided to start studying it this at university.

Having a broad goal and appreciating even the smallest things in your life (like coffee, having a stroll on a really nice day, etc.) will make life seem a little sweeter.

Oh and if you die, how are you going to eat this:

You aren't going to commit suiicide.

Reason being you wanted to bring it to attention. People who want it actually do it, and don't tell.

Don't worry you will be okay. :)

Also, why would you choose certain nothingness over potential 60+ great years in your future.

Although it's often necessary to be careful with revealing our feelings and telling certain truths about ourselves it is okay to have feelings and ideally no one should be made to feel like a "twat" etc. for having feelings or expressing them, or reaching out, or asking for help. I know it doesn't always feel comfortable but  it's perfectly natural and okay to feel stuff.

Also, I'm not sure it is something everyone goes through. It might be (although I'm not sure that it is) but even so, you still need to deal with the feelings etc.

Statistically that's not true, it's actually a myth. If someone tells you they're going to kill themselves there's actually quite a high probability they really mean it.

Of course, but mostly it's a cry for help.

Life's too short as it is, try to ignore your current problems and continue to live life. Don't end it sooner.

The thing is everything's relative. If you're miserable and/or suffering then an hour can feel like an eternity, and a lifetime can feel impossible to even consider coping with. There's something to be said for "positive denial" but truly just ignoring stuff really doesn't help.

I really do hope so. I wish I could do more. In light of the other responses I feel like I'm being negligent by not doing more but I was reluctant because I was on a similar forum where someone said he thought he was going to commit a school shooting and I was really trying hard to get him to talk to someone but one of the other members, who didn't like me, along with his his friends on the form, were just attacking me for it (saying people just say those things sometimes etc. and that I should basically just go away and never come back). :0/

I guess we really shouldn't let those kinds of people subdue us :0/

Edit: Right now I've got to leave this conversation since I have to be somewhere.

P.S. I'm absolutely amazed I've not been trolled or attacked in this thread.

Or maybe the future decades could be like hell for him? Who knows? Things might get better, but there's no guarantee. Better to see what happens in the future than regret it, though. You never know what y'er gonna get...

I just saying this, as it's not good to sugarcoat things on these situations. Those people in the same situation like this (thinking of suicide) mostly are gonna feel that those words are mostly just to make the victim feel better and think that those words don't matter. Better to be realistic, and if optimistic, not too much. I've been in this situation before (I mentioned about it previously on this thread), and I know that trying to make the victim think optimistically just won't work most of the time, as they won't believe in any of it. I'm still somewhat pessimistic towards myself after the few years I was feeling suicidal and still won't feel optimistic much, but thinking about things realistically has kept me from thinking of suicide, helped to make things go back to normal, and thus keep me away from mental hospital / grave.

I'm not a professional, so don't count on this, but this is just my point of view.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

My friends first reaction to when I told him was that, enjoy smaller things in life. Having a point to life everyday would most likely help.

Your not sure whats causing you to think about suicide huh? Or is it because your denying or unwilling to say what it is? I once had doubts about my own self worth and had gone through some depressing periods. But I kept pushing myself to do shit and to move on. I kinda stole the trading philosophy I had and applied it to life somewhat recently. "Whatever goes down has to come up" so whenever your feeling at the lowest point of your life just remember it'll always get better, you just have to make a effort to push for it.

I didn't go to college or uni because of some "issues" which was quite a change of pace since everyone else I knew my age was going to get their degrees and living the college life that I'll never experience. That was somewhat pessimistic to think about, and my future didn't look very bright but thankfully a chain of events lead me to do what I do now. Look at me now, self employed being my own boss and having a job a lot of people out there would love to have as their profession. Yes I don't get out much but other than that I'm quite content with life, the issues I have now are fixable down the line. Ahh the life of a hermit crab....

Do what you like to do and keep on trucking.

Awww yusss like your friend said enjoy some of the smaller things in life, a nice drink with a small snack plus being in front of my computer would make me happy. The place is my control room pretty much... I'll have pictures to post on the show off thread when I buy the final bits of furniture....

I sorta know now I have broken it down a bit, some stuff happened in my life a while ago and i have been thinking about it a bit. I don't think that's all of it though.
