Can a display port to div run at 144hz ? or is there a limit i dont know of

have a 3080ti but my monitor doesnt have a display port and it can only do 144hz with the dvi port. I got a display to dvi but im locked at 60hz. Honestly after double checking i think the cable can only do 60 but when I tried to find one that could do 144 i couldnt find any. Is this a limitation i didnt know about?

Honestly if you have a 3080 Ti and a monitor that doesn't even have HDMI or DP to do 144 on, you're probably in due a monitor upgrade.

Most likely you need dual link DVI to do 144Hz. So you'd need a cable that says display port to dual link DVI, if that even exists.

Dual-Link DVI-D port can do 1920×1080 at 144Hz, I don't think you can run a higher resolution and maintain that refresh rate though.

1. You have a 3080ti but you don't have a monitor with DisplayPort? Bruh, you need to upgrade.

2. What resolution is your monitor? Dual-Link DVI maxes out at 144Hz 1920x1080, 60Hz 2560x1440

3. You'll need an active adapter.

I second the sentiment about a display upgrade, especially if this.. please don't tell me an old 1080p monitor. Extreme overkill for a 3080Ti in that case.

 

Also getting the refresh rates you want using adapters is not always successful. Really hit or miss.

It is time upgrading to a much much better monitor. At least 1440p.

 

Don't waste the capability of the 3080ti.
