Windows installation media suddenly loading extremely slowly

Demetterr

Yesterday I installed the installation media onto a usb and loaded it up, it was quick and I selected my NVMe drive and it said windows was installing. Once it reaches 100% it said it will restart and once it booted up it said unmountable boot volume.

I tried using the installation media again but this time everything is extremely slow, it sits on a blue screen for 3 minutes before showing me language options and the “setup is starting” takes over 20 minutes. Even refreshing the list of drives takes 5 minutes.

I’ve tried using a different usb and reinstalling the windows media onto it. Same slowness.

does anyone know what happened and how to fix it?

EDIT: image below has been loading my drives for 5 minutes. I’ve got 2 NVMe drives and one hard drive

Could be a faulty NVME, I would be inclined to subject it to some testing using a suite of tools such as Hirens Boot CD, in the Win PE environment you could look at Crystal Disk Info to see if SMART has reported any faults or subject other tests.
