What PSU do I need?

I will be upgrading soon and I am not certain what PSU I will need.

My system will be:

• Asus Maximus VI GeneZ
• i7 4770K
• Corsair H100i
• GTX 780
• 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM 1600MHz
• WD Caviar Blue 1TB 
• OCZ Agility 3 60GB
• OCZ Agility 3 120GB
• Corsair Obsidian 350D

I am going to OC my CPU and GPU and I am planning to sleeve my cables.

Because of that I want a modular PSU, I do not know how much Watt I will need though.

the 780 will have a recommended psu of 550w as the gtx titan has a 600w requirement and anyhigher would mean needing two 8 pins connectors and as the titan doesnt have that i doubt the 780 would if its a watered down version.

Although no specs have been released yet, I usually just recommend going with a good 80+ 650W PSU.

I would wait until the specs for the power supply requirements come out so you will be sure that the psu that you chose will work. I would probably guess that a 650W 80+ bronze or higher psu will be able to handle your build.

The power requirements are gonna be the same or lower then the Titan considering the fact that they both use the same cores. It may go up by a bit depending on the manufacturer and what they do. Like custom coolers beefer and better power delivery etc.

 

A 650w 80+ power supply will be more then enough to power the 780 even with all that hardware he's gonna be putting in

A 650W 80+ will do. But I'm concerned with upgrading to SLI is needed, so if I had that build, I would get maybe a 750 80+P

if you want the possibility to upgrade id go for an ax760i or 860i if you know you will upgrade further down the line.

anything with about 750 watts + should be good, i like corsair's

Grab a 780 Watt 80+good brand PSU and be done with it for 5+ years. Corsair or Seasonic would be my recommendation.

I have indeed been looking at the AX series from Corsair and am interested in it. Is is expensive, but the quality is really good. I am just not that interested in SLI or Crossfire, so I feel like it might be unnecessary to go for 750+.

Got the 60GB for my OS when I bought my current system. At some point I wanted another one for my most played games and such so I bought the 120GB.

That calculator is much better than the one I used from Cooler Master. This one does take CPU overclocking in considering, but not GPU overclocking. Does that make a big difference for the amounts of Watt you will need?

don't cheap on on the psu take a 850w the ax850 from corsair is good

As components are becoming more and more efficient, I'd say you could actually get away with a 650 watt or 750 watt even for (dual) SLI or CrossfireX.

I don't know the power requirements for those parts yet, but my guess is that a 600w to 750w PSU will be fine go for that build. I'd go for 600 if you don't have any intention of dual graphics cards and 750 if you may SLI or Crossfire. if you are low on gudget, grab an superflower 550W and you should be good. No extendet oc though..on the gpu side at least.

I'd go with a decent 650W. It might probably be enough to SLI the GPUs but you will have a lot of OC headroom, at least concerning your power demands.

I would recommend the SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold because EVGA psu imo are not that good. Seasonic makes very good power supplies. :)

I would recommend some Vector's or Samsung 840's, but don't go with the Agility

I have those SSD's alreeady, bought them like 1 and half years ago. I too recommended the 840 to a friend of mine who recently wanted to buy an SSD.
