I will be upgrading soon and I am not certain what PSU I will need.

My system will be:

  • Asus Maximus VI GeneZ
  • i7 4770K
  • Corsair H100i
  • GTX 780
  • 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM 1600MHz
  • WD Caviar Blue 1TB
  • OCZ Agility 3 60GB
  • OCZ Agility 3 120GB
  • Corsair Obsidian 350D

I am going to OC my CPU and GPU and I am planning to sleeve my cables.

Because of that I want a modular PSU, I do not know how much Watt I will need though.

the 780 will have a recommended psu of 550w as the gtx titan has a 600w requirement and anyhigher would mean needing two 8 pins connectors and as the titan doesnt have that i doubt the 780 would if its a watered down version.

Although no specs have been released yet, I usually just recommend going with a good 80+ 650W PSU.

PC: Ryzen 5 2600 // 16 GB Corsair 3200 // MSI RX 580 8 GB // 500 GB WD Blue M.2 (sata) // Silverstone Raven RVZ03B // Fedora 33

LAPTOP: i7 5700HQ // 16 GB Kingston 1866 // GTX 970M // 250 GB Samsung 850 EVO M.2 // 1 TB HDD // Windows 10

ETC: (2) Dell U2515H (2560x1440) // Corsair K63 // Logitech G603 // FiiO E10 // Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO (250 ohm) // Audio Technica ATH-M60x

I would wait until the specs for the power supply requirements come out so you will be sure that the psu that you chose will work. I would probably guess that a 650W 80+ bronze or higher psu will be able to handle your build.

The power requirements are gonna be the same or lower then the Titan considering the fact that they both use the same cores. It may go up by a bit depending on the manufacturer and what they do. Like custom coolers beefer and better power delivery etc.

A 650w 80+ power supply will be more then enough to power the 780 even with all that hardware he's gonna be putting in

Got the 60GB for my OS when I bought my current system. At some point I wanted another one for my most played games and such so I bought the 120GB.

Put them on raid 0! :)

Though that will only give you 120gb in raid performance, 60 in normal SSD speeds. :)

As components are becoming more and more efficient, I'd say you could actually get away with a 650 watt or 750 watt even for (dual) SLI or CrossfireX.

I don't know the power requirements for those parts yet, but my guess is that a 600w to 750w PSU will be fine go for that build. I'd go for 600 if you don't have any intention of dual graphics cards and 750 if you may SLI or Crossfire. Here's a link to a bunch of 600w-699w modular PSUs http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/#w=600&p=1&e=5,4,3,2 that should all work fine and here's a simaler link for 700w-799w http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/#w=700&p=1&e=5,4,3,2 . Pick which ever one you think is the best and ask us here to confirm that it will be right for your build.

I've been looking in the Partpicker list and the EVGA NEX650G Gold sparked my interest.

I would recommend the SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold because EVGA psu imo are not that good. Seasonic makes very good power supplies. :)
