Hi im starting my first build and the only thing I've decided on is the case, the Hyte Y60, my first question is should I go with the , sapphire  toxic amd radeon rx 6900 xt liquid cooled or  AUROS RTX 3080 WATER FORCE? then im also not sure if I want to go with an RYZEN 7 5800X AND B550 CHIPSET OR I7 12700K Z690 CHIPSET WITH DDR5? all advise is appreciated

Thanks,

I should also mention I mainly want it for flights sims DCS world , flight sim 2020, X-plane ect. and I want the graphics to look as real as possible without breaking the bank.

Personally I would go with the 5800x and B550 (if you can swing it get a good X570 board like the Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570) DDR5 is STUPID expensive and the 12 gen CPUS draw absolutely dumb power and run hotter than hell.

As far as a GPU goes, I would lean more towards the 3080 but that is personal preference. They are both great cards. 3080 is a bit faster and the software nvidia brings to the table is just better than AMD's GPUs I think. Especially the nvidia broadcast and onboard transcoder for streaming/recording gameplay.

Also, big thi0ng to mention. With what you have there I would recommend you go with a 850w-1000w PSU. The reason being is this:

Make sure it is a QUALITY power supply as well. Like this one: https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-prime-ultra-platinum-ssr-1000pd-1000w/p/N82E16817151200?Description=seasonic 1000w&cm_re=seasonic_1000w-_-17-151-200-_-Product&quicklink=true

These are odd picks. Where are you looking for GPUs? The AIO GPUs don't usually make a ton of sense since the coolers are more likely to die and they're harder to get working again, they're more expensive than their air cooled brethren, and they're not much cooler than their air cooled counterparts.

Those aren't really comparable. The 5800X, good B550 board, and a good kit of DDR4 is a lot cheaper than the 12700K, Z690 board, and a kit of DDR5, plus the 12700K is a lot faster than the 5800X. I personally wouldn't go either.

An i7 12700F is $100 less than a 12700K for very similar performance, the performance difference for gaming between good DDR4 and DDR5 is very minimal, and a B660 board is not that expensive, even one that supports BCLK overclocking (the soon-to-be-released B660M Mortar MAX DDR4). The 12700F and a B660M Mortar MAX with a 3200MHz CL16 kit of DDR4 should be about the same price as a 5800X based system, but the 12700F is a much faster CPU, especially when overclocked.

PCPARTPICKER, AMAZON, EBAY, NEWEGG I found those 2 for the same price and figured water cooled would be better, like I said Im new to this and want a a good gaming rig for flight sims

Make sure to quote so we get a reply.

US I'm assuming? Both the 3080 and 6900 XT will perform about the same in flight sim and do have their pros and cons. That said, the 3080 is currently $100 less than the cheapest 6900 XT (that I'd recommend), so I would go for the 3080 instead, specifically the MSI Ventus 3X Plus OC (it's currently the cheapest one, and it's a fine card).

If you do want to go 6900 XT instead though for whatever reason (want to run Linux at some point, dislike Nvidia, want the faster card in most other applications outside of DLSS), the cheapest one I'd recommend is the ASRock OC Formula because it's the cheapest fully unlocked card (long story, AMD released 2 6900 XTs, a locked SKU and a unlocked SKU, the unlocked SKU does perform a little better out of the box, about 3% faster, and the cheapest of the unlocked variety is the OC Formula). The 6900 XT's main advantage is it's performance per watt improvements, but because of that, when you unlock the power and clock limits like you can on the OC Formula, performance does increase a fair bit over the stock performance (~10% GPU faster in my experience, at least in benchmarks) while fitting in the same power envelope that the 3080 has.

The 6900 XT would likely be the more fun card if you're into tinkering with overclocking, but if you just plan on leaving it at stock go 3080, DLSS will make up whatever difference there would be between the cards anyway.
