Intel has done 1 forward generation on every "new" Z-series motherboard for the last 10 years. I highly doubt they'll stop now.

 

The bigger question is, will 13th gen still have DDR4 memory controller. Historically, Skylake and Kabylake supported both DDR3LP and DDR4.

 

If I had to bet, I'd bet on 13th gen working on Z690 boards, both DDR4 and 5. At worst, they'll only support the DDR5 boards.
