Reference cards are basically all binned the same, AFAIK.

reference cards basically means, that they are not binned outside of their 780ti minimum spec by Nvidia.

The reference cards only have to meet Nvidia's minimum requirements. You could get a ref 780ti that's super godly and OCs like a fucking beast. Silicon Lottery.

I'm pretty sure none of the 780 ti 's are binned but the EVGA kingpin.

A lot of 780 Ti cards are binned, most of them are not a reference card though- especially the Kingpin.

OP: Get a regular reference card with the reference cooler to be sure of a reference PCB. You should know there is only the silicon lottery to blame if the card you get is not as good as the one you have!

None are binned but the kingpin.

Best chance is to get a lightning card. They're meant to run at very high clock speeds, out of the box. So chances are, they might even have more headroom for more overclocking.

Folding for LTT since April 2016.

For reference cards it's really just luck.

This....like most things with overclocking. If you want guarantees you're gonna have to pay for them.

I just said a post above that a lot of non-reference cards are binned, albeit to different extents

For example: Gainward Phantom, Asus Matrix (not yet available for sale), EVGA Classified, EVGA Classified Kingpin edition, Galaxy HOF, Gigabyte GHz

The MSI Lightning 780 Ti is not available for retail sale so no point recommending it.

Well if you mean they're binned to check if they run stable at the specified clock speed, then sure.

Theres no 780 ti lightning?

Folding for LTT since April 2016.
