Hello!

 

So it's my friends birthday coming up in like three days, and long story short he doesn't have a GPU. Now, I wanna get him a new GPU but man I don't got money laying around like that. So I have this old Asus GPU, an ancient 8600GT (See picture to understand how old this thing is. Anywho, he's running on MB graphics power. Do you think this card would make a difference at all?

I would say yes possibly a small one, unless he has some really good onboard graphics.

 The Wannabe is no longer. Replaced by the Flotilla. If you replace every part of a computer is it still the same computer?

A pretty cheap cpu/graphics solution 

Well you would want to confirm if his PC even supports that GPU. Does it have a free PCI slot? A good enough PSU?

If it's Intel integrated (lower than HD 4600, and not Iris based) I would do it.

I would say, find out what APU your friend is running. Also, depending on what apu depends on what DX version he is running. I know the 8600gt has to run an older DX but if his APU is old anyway this could be beneficial. So, I would say possibly. Find out the APU first then decide. Also, if it's about the same give it to him anyway because then the graphics card can take off the stress of the apu.
