Stellaris - what DLC's to get

I think I want to get into Stellaris, but with all the DLC's available, which ones are the most essentiel to get? 

And any DLC packs I should get?

Buy and play the base game first. It is really cheap on special. Then when you have a better idea of how you like to play the game you can decide what features you want from the DLC.

I got Stellaris with all dlc's. First time player and holy smokes, the amount off features, options, mechanics melted my fucking brain. Really good game thou. Do youtself a favor and start slowly.

If you're just starting out, it's a massive game and it's worth just playing it as is until you feel comfortable.
