It may come as a big surprise but in Fallout 4 my results based on this thread below are way below expected. You can see I (Tired9) Ended up pulling my hair out almost with it, it's slower than my previous 5600X with an inferior RAM configuration in this test.

What I am here asking though is if this is just an anomaly?

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/fallout-4-cpu-benchmark-thread-need-some-zen3-results.18946938/

I will run TimeSpy soon and see if my results are as expected.

What are your temps? Is this with a 5600x or the 5800x in your signature?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

5800x

I get like 65c max in Fallout 4 and in demanding games can see up to 75c maximum. Under rendering conditions I have hit 78c before.

My sig has the up to date PC configuration if you need to look.

Doesn't look that low. The difference between a 5600x and 5800x is slim to none in games. What's your IF running at?

@GuiltySpark_Is there I'm something I'm missing here, or is OP expecting too much without any real overclock. Doesn't look like PBO is even enabled at those clock speeds.

Tagging you because I don't have my 5800x anymore so I can't run to compare numbers.

Looks fine to me. I actually only achieved a CPU score of 11662 just now. I think my chip is just a turd.. I've got all custom Curve Optimizer settings too so I give up with this thing, bring on AM5!

I know you didn't tag me, but I'd like to share some input.

5600X, 5800X and 5900X should all produce around 11K Cpu score. Because the benchmark only scales to 10 threads. Given the cpus where all around the same clock speed.

The final score is heavily reflective of GPU score. He may see a better experience overclocking the GPU, but won't explain the FallOut4 issue.

I'd start with removing "GeForce Experience" if installed....

I don't have GeForce experience installed.

Here is with PBO on.

Easily cracked 14k. Over 12k CPU score, slightly worse GPU score with a higher Core OC.

My chips does better average frequency than the other guys even though their max clock is like 5ghz.

https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/76098467?

So basically Fallout 4 is just a turd?

Cinebench also confirms the higher CPU performance but dropped single core speed. Multithread of 5987 to 6066.

SC from 638 to 618.

Turned off all background stuff like VPN, MSI AB, Steam, and scored 6165 which is much more in line with reviews.

SC 629.
