From an AMD RX Vega 64 to a 6650 XT?

coaltown992

Would you consider going from an AMD RX Vega 64 to a 6650 XT an upgrade? If so, would it be an upgrade worth $400?

So is that yes to the first question and no to the second?

It's faster. It's probably not enough of a jump to be worth it though.

No for both, If you have an sufficient power supply and a CPU that will not become a big bottleneck, I think going for the RX 6700 XT is a better option as of right now.

Speaking of CPUs I've got a Ryzen 2600x, should I consider upgrading that before the GPU?

I would not pair the 2600X with an RX 6700 XT, but maybe you can wait a bit and see if something like the R7 5700X or 5800X becomes cheaper, that is if you can get support for Ryzen 5000 on your motherboard.

Now of course, it would also depend on what resolution and detail settings you game at. If you game at 1440p or higher with high-ish setting, then maybe you can upgrade the CPU a little later in maybe Autumn or so.
