GTX 780ti not working when driver are instaled

Hi,

I am new to the forum and English is not my native langue so sorry if my English isn’t good. I recently acquired a 780ti from a friend and when I installed it into my system it booted fin with th windows basic display driver. I installed the latest driver from the Nvidia webs site, installed them with no problem and the I restarted my computer to finish the install of the driver. When it restarts it started to boot and then freeze so I restarted it multiple time it did it every time. I rebooted into safe mod and uninstalled the driver withe ddu and rebooted out of safe mod to try to install older driver from Nvidia and I have still had the same problem. I then opened my card to check that there was nothing clearly wrong at a component level and change se thermal paste, but it didn't help.

So if someone now how to fix this issue it would be greatly apricated(I have a microscope and a soldering iron so I can try a component level repair).

i7 9700k

z370 aorus ultra gaming 2.0

32gb of hyperx ram

and an asus gtx 780ti drirectCU II OC

1000w cooler master silet pro gold

windows 10 pro 19044

Nvidia does not make drivers for that card anymore. What version of the driver were you trying to install?

 

It looks like the latest driver that is compatible with that card is version 472.98.

GTX7xx,6xx,5xx and 4xx cards are notorious for having issues with GPU die/GPU substrate due them running hot on default fan profiles. Your issue sounds like one of those and sadly getting it fixed might not be that easy.
