I do already have a custom built pc but i have this at my girlfriends place for us to place some games on together when im over, i was hoping to upgrade it because i wanted to put a SFF 1650 in it  instead of the shitty 210 i have in it rn.image.thumb.png.4b60ad23fd356c219be99c18a5b8bbab.png(card im going to buy for it) It needs a 300w psu and i was hoping i could put a 400-500w one so it doesnt crash the pc

HP Prebuilts just aren't standard, so getting a new 300W PSU for it isn't really an option without either making an adapter to their proprietary connectors or without just rewiring whatever PSU you end up buying anyway. I think there might be someone who makes adapters for these, but they aren't common, and you likely won't be able to close the side panel.

If you're just gonna get a 1650, I've seen those cards run on pretty low wattage PSUs. I know a guy who ran a 1050 Ti (same TDP IIRC) on a 200W PSU that ran like that for 5 years before eventually kicking the bucket. It had the issue where it wouldn't boot unless the keyboard and mouse were unplugged because it was just enough to trigger OCP, but it did work, and once it was on it ran just fine. Use that card in that system with the current PSU until you start having issues with it, it just isn't worth the effort to replace the PSU in that machine.

Hi everyone, A while back i got a HP prodesk 600 G2 SFF pc and ive been looking to upgrade the psu and the graphics card.

Anyone know where i can buy a small form factor psu for the pc? Thanks

That thing uses a non-standard PSU with non-standards connections. Good luck.

Unless you feel like rewiring your own PSU or making your own adapters, you aren't really gonna be able to do this. You're likely gonna be better off selling the entire thing as a unit and either putting the proceeds towards making a full custom built PC or getting a used prebuilt that can actually take somewhat standard components.

so i might as well stick with the original power supply with the new card then, If pc ever decides to kick the bucket or just starts crashing ill just use it as a spare or emulation machine or for stuff like movies
