I’ve just recently upgraded my monitor to a G2 series AOC 1440p and the game I mostly play is COD mp and WZ .. I know it’s a demanding game and probably just server game restriction issues but I never seem to surpass the 90fps mark I’ve cleared all cache and I’m needed programs and I was hoping CPU and RAM upgrades would help or at least lessen the strain what other suggestions . P.s I’m knew to pc and all the tech “lingo” so please keep it as simple as possible

Upgrading a CPU isn't gonna change this.  Check your settings and take it easy on anti-aliasing.  You're correct in that's it's probably something other than your computer, as that game will usually run at over 170fps on a 6700xt, which is slower than your 3070.  The CPU is in no way, shape, or form the issue.  Your computer is probably totally fine. Your GPU and monitor are the limiters of your framerate, you'd need to have WAY slower CPU and RAM for that to be an issue.  If it's stuck at exactly 90 it might be something in either your nVidia settings, the game settings, game code, or server settings.

Bottom line, though, put away your credit card, buying all this won't change anything.

Budget (including currency):

Country:

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Below is my current build And I’m going to be upgrading to (see second image) and Im just looking for advice or recommendations on anything I should possibly add or switch out ?

RAM is compatible, I'd just try and find something cheaper.

SSD will work, but that board doesn't support Gen 4 so you'll get have the rated speed. Unless that's cheaper than good Gen 3 drives, I'd swap it to a good Gen 3 drive like the 970 Evo Plus, SN750, Crucial P5, Sabrent Rocket, etc.

5700X is almost the same exact performance but is a bit cheaper than the 5800X. Both should be compatible.

Nothing in this is going to improve game performance in the slightest.

Really no point in upgrading your CPU this soon.  The 3600 should be able to handle the 3070 fine, and the 3070 is what's driving your game performance.  Unless your gaming at 1080p, in which case, I'd upgrade your monitor.  No point in using a 3070 for anything less than 1440p.

I also don't think that for what looks like a gaming computer, that there's any point in getting a 980 pro, just get a 970 evo or a 980 regular if you think that SATA one is too slow (it's probably not tbh).  If you're low on game space a 2TB HDD will cost you like 40 pounds and you can store everything on it, the majority of games still run totally fine on hard drives, and you could just move the ocassional game that demands it be installed on an SSD to your SSD that you already have.

Your RAM is also fine, If you NEED 32GB you should just get 16GB of the same RAM you already have, that'll be like 50 pounds instead of 140.  No real performance difference between 3200MHz and 3600MHz.

Thanks and the FPS isn’t stuck at 90 it’s just the most common number I’m seeing I may try resetting my pc and starting again thanks for the TechtTips much appreciated

No worries.  FPS counter work by sampling so if its right around that it might be stuck there.  You’re talking about warzonr right?  MW is gonna get about 90-100 at ultra but its still heavily GPU bound.  You’d need a faster GPU to get a higher framerate, but your better off just locking it to 90 for stability or turning a few swttings (anti-aliasing, shadows) down to medium which will still look very good if you want a stable 144fps.  Not worth buying a $1000+ GPU for one game.

Yea I’m talking about wz and all other games are fine so I know it’s mostly game bound issues and I play all my settings on medium to low (I don’t use anti-aliasing) and I’ve been through almost every setting and forum for settings and I’m still stuck between the 90 and 100fps marker and what was frustrating was I know people with lower end builds getting higher fps and I’ve followed their settings and still the same results again I’m not hugely tech savvy so may need to take it to shop and ask them to go through everything for me again thanks for the advice though I appreciate it

Yep, though with that bit of info I’ll almost guarantee it’s an nVidia control panel setting, windows display setting, or game server issue.  Windows AND nvidia control panel need to know that you have a 144Hz monitor, and the monitor needs to be running in whatever mode is for high framerate (should be default but IDK, try ‘game mode’).  The windows part is gonna be under display settings -> advanced display settings.  If not it's the framerate fairy taking a dump on you I guess.  A windows reinstall never hurts if you have all your shit backed up and can spare the time.

Sorry to keep chirping at ya but I’d hate for some PC shop people to yank you around, in my friend’s experience they’re about as 50/50 as they come.
