Whenever I plug my Xbox 1 controller to my Windows pc it keeps giving me a driver error, am I screwed

Here is the error. It's an old controller so I won't be super surprised if it's dead.

 

Also I've tried to power cycle it and restart my computer, it didn't work.

It is most likely the cable. That is what happens when data pins are not making proper contact.

Agreed, cheaper cables, or old musty cables cause issues. Get a good cable that supports data transfer.
