Was planning on getting a pair of DT 990 Pros with a budget mic called the FIFINE Studio. Don't know if the mic is any good as it is budget. Have never used an actual mic and have always used gaming headsets. Let me know your thoughts.

DT 990 Pro

FIFINE Studio Condenser Mic

What I know of mics is all old analog stuff.  There are a bunch of mic types condenser is only one of them. They are cheap though.  Condenser mics are good for getting whole room sound.  They don’t angle well.   Condenser mics are really small.  Most mics in electronics are condenser mics for this reason.  Other types of mics pick up sound in different ways.  The only one I can think of is a shotgun mic which you definitely do not want.  Some require a battery some don’t.  Your voice may sound good on one mic but not on another.  The only thing to do is try them.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

DT990 Pro is an acceptable option depending upon your tastes. If you're not entirely sure on how to read frequency response graphs, I recommend getting into it. Find out how a headphone you like measures, and compare that to whatever you're researching. That'll give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of overall tonality. Personally, I think most Beyers are too sharp in the 5 or 6-10k region. Rather shrill listen if you're treble sensitive, I'd recommend the HiFiMan HE400SE instead. Better all-rounder in my opinion, also with the added benefit of planar magnetic drivers.

As for the mic, never heard of it. Unless it's from a reputable audio brand, it's probably a good idea to stay away from. Try watching podcastage for some better recommendations under $150.
