Monitor Suggestions

linustechchips

I want to buy 2-3 monitors for my setup, I prefer this specs:

  • 27"
  • 1440p
  • 144hz
  • No/Very Less backlight bleed

Purpose:

I am a hacker and I also do some coding... I work on terminals which are black so I wouldn't want backlight bleed... ( I cannot afford OLED -_- )

I don't have much experience with monitors but I like my laptop's screen and I think it is IPS-Level screen (Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2021), it is like I am looking at a photo... Nice resolution and perfect viewing angles.

country? budget?

1440p 144hz is more of a gaming spec than coding. Most coders either go 4k for sharper text and less eye strain or ultrawide on vertical mount for more lines on screen.

backlight bleed will be an issue with nearly every IPS screen, 144hz gaming screens are even worse since the faster you refresh the LCD panel the more light you need to maintain the same perceived brightness as 60hz monitors, which causes more light bleed.

27in 1440p 144hz https://pcpartpicker.com/product/VRgFf7/lg-27gn880-b-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-27gn880-b

since you are looking at 2-3 monitors anyway 49" ultrawide 1440p 120hz

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/viotek-suw49da/4 review has both monitors on the charts so it's a useful comparison.

The best gaming PC is the PC you like to game on, how you like to game on it

I agree that 4k ultra wide is better but I don't do much coding, probably around 20% and I would prefer multiple screen because I have multiple stuff to work with at the same time, like I have at least one VM, one browser screen, and a tool that we use for basically everything...

I am choosing 144hz because my laptop has the same and I am a fan of it.

As I mentioned before my laptop doesn't have any light bleed, why is that? It is 1080p 144hz!!
