Hello, I am currently fixing a laptop for a friend and I need help diagnosing the issue with it. The laptop was dropped on it's corner and now the screen does not work. The laptop works perfectly fine (the laptop works normally when an external monitor is plugged in), except for the screen. What's odd is that there is not physical damages on the motherboard or the screen so I could use help on determining what I need to replace. In the photo of the motherboard, it is the bottom left corner that got hit when the laptop dropped.

Here is some info of the laptop

HP Laptop 15-dy1028ca

Product Number :  7YZ69UA

Thanks for the help.

You can grab a flashlight and shine it at an angle with the screen on.  I would use an external monitor to get to something like a webpage that is all white with black letters to make it easier to see.  This would at least tell you if the entire screen is gone.

Everything I've learned is from Google.
