Budget (including currency): €2,500

Country: Europe

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: OW2, and other new releases.

Core concept:
I bought my current PC about 12 years ago, and I bought it to last 10 years, and it's done service! However parts are running down, some are out of spec, I can't go to Win11, some games are starting to struggle and not even able to really play a game like Apex as it's just too much.

Current system:

Intel i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz   - Dropping

Corsair Hyrdro H60 (or 12 year old equivalent) - Will likely replace
RAM 16.0 GB DDR3  - Worth keeping for new system?

Motherboard Sabertooth Z77  - Definitely replaced

Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti  - Probably upgrade this one?

Case: Cooler Master Haf-X Tower

I am looking to buy another PC for 10 years, I had a tower unit this last time, I don't mind the size and noise, but there is no need at all now, so a smaller PC system would be fine.

I have been out of the loop a long time, and have no idea what to get, I don't have a preference for AMD or Intel, just want a PC that will gobble up everything now, and last another 10 years, (might upgrade sooner depending on need).

Equally can put it together myself, but happy with a prebuilt system if it cuts the mustard (not cutting cheese).

This is about as much as i'd recommend spending on a consumer level system. The 12700K is a pretty good value of a CPU, incredibly fast and only a couple percent behind the 12900K while being easier to cool.

This list it's actually pretty good, I would only go for a SN750 instead of the SN850 for the extra few bucks that you can save.

Would keep the Case and GPU!

Went for 5900x due to better and cheaper amd boards and also matx if you are sure you dont need the extra space

Btw the ballistix ram does 4000 cl16 with lazy oc (set freq + 1.5v, lower if unstable) but you can expect around 4600-5000 cl18 if you tune for max speed
